Ola Cabs gets a thumbs up for its response to request for Hindu-only driver

NEW DELHI: Ola Cabs got an offensive request from a customer in Hyderabad on Monday. Seelam Veerapa Naidu with the Twitter handle @SVeerapaNaidu tweeted the taxi service asking for a cab with a 'driver of Hindu faith only'.

In reply, Ola tweeted, "Sorry, we don't discriminate against our drivers on the basis of their religion."

Many praised Ola for their response, including competition Uber and EasyCabs, as well as former J&K CM Omar Abdullah, among others.
Naidu initially attempted to defend his request, but later tweeted, "My intention is not to hurt anyone".

However, Twitterati was not so forgiving with many criticizing the move.
