"Whoever is opposing the film, I request them to first watch it. There is nothing in the film to oppose," Baba Ram Rahim said when asked about the protests over the movie.
Responding to questions on resignation of Censor Board chief Leela Samson, he said, "I dont know her name, how would I know why she has resigned? This question should be asked to her."
More than two lakh people, including women and children, had gathered at the Leisure Valley Ground, Sector 29, in Gurgaon to watch the premiere of the movie 'Messenger of God', which was not allowed."I don't know why they are not allowing us to showcase the premiere of the movie 'MSG', Baba Ram Rahim said.

MSG will not release this Friday"60 workers of INLD and INSO (political parties) have been detained, in order to maintain the law and order situation in the city and to avert clashes with the supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa who are gathering in large numbers at Leisure Valley Ground for the premiere show of the movie," said Navdeep Singh Virk, Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon.
The premiere was set up at an open theatre show for the supporters of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. At least a dozen screens were installed at the venue. The arrangements for the screening were made in advance and tickets were sold to over two lakh people. Each ticket was for Rs 2000. Special free passes were given to select number of invitees.
Protests have erupted in several parts of Punjab and Haryana against the screening of 'Messenger of God'.
Meanwhile, after Censor Board chief Leela Samson's resignation on Thursday night, another board member Ira Bhaskar resigned on Friday.
Ira Bhaskar said the board was not functional and there was no point continuing.
There are reports that more members may step down.
Earlier in the day, government refuted charges of interference in Censor Board's functioning levelled by its chairperson Leela Samson and asserted that it has always maintained a distance from the certification process.
The decision by Samson to resign came amid a row over controversial film 'Messenger of God' featuring Dera Saccha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
Reacting to the CBFC chairperson's statement that she had decided to resign because of "recent cases" of interference in the functioning of the board, minister of state in the information and broadcasting ministry Rajyavardhan Rathore said the ministry has always "kept a hands away distance" from the Censor Board decisions.
"This latest issue of the chairperson resigning has come to light. I would like to bring to the notice of everyone that the entire Censor Board and all its members were placed by the previous government. None of them have been changed. No additional member has been put in. The extension that the Chairperson has been talking of has been granted to the entire Censor board," Rathore told reporters here.
Asked if she was aware of media reports that the nod has been given by Film Certification Appellate Tribunal to the film's screening, Samson had said that "I hear so. Nothing in writing yet. It is a mockery of Central Board of Film Certification. My resignation is final. Have informed the (I&B) secretary".
The premiere of the movie has been delayed though the screening was scheduled for 1pm to 4pm, with due permission from the authorities.
