No one should cross the 'laxman rekha': Modi's stern warning to BJP MPs

NEW DELHI: In a stern warning to party MPs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told them not to make remarks which give leverage to the opposition. He asked them to adhere to the party line and follow the government's ideology.

Modi talked tough to his party MPs at the BJP's parliamentary party meeting which is held every Tuesday when Parliament is in session. He made it clear no one should cross the line or the 'laxman rekha'.

The Prime Minister, once again, made his displeasure known at the comments made by some of his party's MPs, including Sakshi Maharaj who had called Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godese a 'patriot'. Sakshi Maharaj was later forced to retract his remarks and apologize.

Earlier, Union minister Sadhavi Niranjan Jyoti had used obscene language during a rally which also invited the wrath of the opposition.
