Ratan Rajput, best known as Laali from the TV serial Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, says there was a time when getting married was the only aim in her life.

"Before making a foray into acting, I was confused like any other youngster and getting married seemed to be the only safe option. But things changed when I got into acting," she says.
In 2010, the marriage reality show, Ratan Ka Rishta, happened, and she got engaged on national television. Later, she broke her engagement with fiance Abhinav Sharma, citing a number of reasons. "Like any other couple, we had a lot of issues which could not be sorted out. So, we broke up amicably. The experience has not created any kind of bitterness about marriage in me. I certainly want to get married to a person who accepts me the way I am. I realise that I am not perfect. If I am ordered to do certain things, I might end up doing the opposite. I would prefer a person who has a nine-to-five job, so that he has enough time for me. I don't mind an arranged marriage," says the actress from Patna.

Interestingly, celebs including Mallika Sherawat, Rakhi Sawant and Veena Malik, who found 'prospective partners' on national television never made it to the altar. Ratan also made news for her stint on the show Bigg Boss last year. "It was a big challenge for me to do the show as I had never lived in a place where I had to share things with others. Even when I moved to Mumbai, I had a place of my own and didn't live as a paying guest; so it was difficult to live with so many people around. Moreover, the show involves a lot of manipulation with people, which was even more of a task. In fact, I had to take the help of a psychiatrist during that time. But yes, it was quite a learning experience," she says.
