1) Arjun Kapoor, who plays the lead role in 2 States, based on Chetan Bhagat's best-selling novel, identifies with the character in the book. However, the actor has not read the book '2 States'.

2) For 2 States, the first choice for lead roles were Shahrukh Khan and Asin Thottumkal. Apparently, Ranbir Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan was also approached for the male lead role which finally went to Arjun Kapoor.

3) The writer of 2 States, Chetan Bhagat said that writing 2 States helped him forgive his father as his father was in the army and was authoritarian. He would deny Chetan Bhagat's mother simple things like meeting her family, as it would make her happy. Chetan had written 2 States to understand where his father was coming from and to forgive him.
