Gym owner 'rapes' B Tech student

HYDERABAD: A 21-year-old B Tech student was raped by a gym owner at LB Nagar on Sunday. According to police, the victim, an engineering student from Bhavaninagar in LB Nagar was an acquaintance of the 26- year- old accused Prashant Reddy.

On Sunday afternoon, Reddy lured the victim to his house at Balajinagar of LB Nagar by promising to give her some important details about her boyfriend who used to practice in his gym.

"Prashant was alone at the house when the victim reached there. The gym owner bolted the main door from inside and raped her," LB Nagar inspector P Srinivas Reddy said. After the assault, the accused threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone. The victim approached the police on Monday and lodged a complaint against Prashant. Based on the complaint, the police took Reddy into custody. The victim has been sent for medical examination.
