Singh, who plays the lead in KyaHua Tera Vaada, said: "I am aware about a scandalous video in circulation. At this point of time, all I can say is that this is a morphed video. I have lodged a complaint at the cyber crime branch and an investigation is on."
The police said they had registered a complaint against an unknown person and were trying to trace the computer used to upload the offending content. The police are also trying to find out if someone known to the actress is involved. Officers said they suspected the involvement of some local elements.
"We are trying to trace the IP address of the computer with the help of cyber experts," an officer said.
Singh, who is dating actor Vidyut Jamwal, said as of now she did not suspect anyone familiar. The actress shot to fame with her role in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. She also played a small role in Raju Hirani's 3 Idiots.
On rumours that the clip could be a publicity stunt ahead of Jamwal's upcoming film Commando, Singh said: "No one, and I mean no one, would want this kind of cheap and disgraced publicity.."
