A recent photo of the BJP honcho Nitin Gadkari wearing khaki shorts juxtaposed with an old, iconic photo of the Hollywood heater Sharon Stone in the film Basic Instinct went viral on social networking sites a few days ago.
Encouraged by this huge public response to the leg shows, a leading market research company decided to do a sample survey in order to know whose legs the citizens actually preferred more -- Gadkari's or Stone's. The results were baffling, to say the least, for the surveyors. Over 95% of those surveyed stated that they found Gadkari's legs much better than Stone's. Here's a snippet of the boardroom meeting of the market research company immediately after the results were out:
Vice President: "It's a bit difficult to comprehend why so many people have preferred Gadkari's legs over the lovely legs of Sharon Stone. Was this survey carried out at some gay party zone?"
Chief Researcher: "No sir, the sample survey of 1,000 respondents was evenly distributed among men and women of all sexual preferences. Perhaps they were feeling rather patriotic, and hence voted for an Indian over a foreigner."
Vice President: "Nonsense! C'mon you tell me who has better legs in these blessed pics? Sharon Stone wins hands-and-legs-and-everything-else down! Just look at those two beauties... don't you agree?"
Chief Researcher: "Er, yeah sir. Stone has by far much more shapelier legs. May be it's that lighted cigarette in her mouth that made her lose points. You know, how very health conscious we all have become now in the 21st century. And her film Basic Instinct is so very outdated 20th century phenomenon. Hence the results clearly show... that smoking is clearly not sexy now."
Vice President: "Umm, you may have a point there, though. But I want to speak to all the field assistants connected to this."
Senior Field Assistant (looking a bit uneasy): "Sir, in hindsight I feel that the survey was not evenly distributed among the sample society cross-section."
Vice President (puzzled): "What the...! What do you exactly mean by that?"
Senior Field Assistant: "Well sir, we mainly interviewed truck drivers, bus drivers, taxi drivers, autorickshaw drivers and private car drivers. Basically, they were all drivers."
Vice President: "So? You mean drivers don't like Stone's legs?"
Senior Field Assistant: "Actually sir, they were all praises for Gadkari because of the recent news that his own driver had reportedly been promoted as a company director. So obviously they were a little biased towards him. They all feel that they too can become directors or vice presidents some day!"
